69 standard brake pad retention pins finish

What is the correct finish of the long pin that retains the pads inside the caliper? Natural is my guess but my rebuilt ones have yellow dichromate ones so I'm not sure if I should leave them or strip them.

How about the cotter pin that holds the pin in the caliper...is it natural?

    Thanks

The original pad retaining pins and cotter pins were NATURAL finish. Many replacements are zinc plated.
