    69 alternator mystery

I took the alternator off my 69 435 hp coupe. It has a 6 spoke front cover. The stamp is 1100864. The 6 is very faint. I could not find this number listed anywhere. Also the number off the pulley is 3829387-AI. Would this be the correct pulley by chance? Does anyone know where this alternator and pulley could be from? Thank you for the help. Mark

I strongly suspect that the number is 1100884. If so, this is a 61 amp alternator that could have been used for your application. I can find no record of an alternator of GM #1100864 ever having existed.

The GM #3829387 alternator pulley could have been used for your application IF the car does not have power steering.

      Joe,
I guess it could be an 8. It is very faint. The 4 next to it is also light, but not as bad. My car does not have power steering, so I believe the pulley is correct. Thanks for the reply, Mark

Of the six or seven 1100884s I've personally seen every one had a slight space between the 1100 and 884 and the A in 61A is dropped slightly lower than the 61.

Here's a picture of my alternator off my November built '69 435.
