    1956 engine oiling update

As so many were helpful with the oil problem I posted about yesterday I thought I would give an update. Per advice, I turned the distributor housing so that the flat area was on the passenger side and slightly towards the rear of the engine. Once I then restarted the engine, both sides oiled through the push rods as they are supposed to do. I guess it is better to be lucky than good.

    Thanks,
    Steve

Good for you Steve. I also own a '56 and always carefull on how I install the distributor. The oiler location makes it easier.

Really good news you found out NOW......and not later

NOW, don't forget to read the articles about some of the new engine oils not meeting API vintage Corvette oil standards. These products should be avoided as damage to camshaft and lifters can happen easily.
