Testing Bulbs in 67 Cluster Before Re-Install

Someone please remind what is the easiest way to test each bulb in my cluster before re-installing it. I think I read about using a 12V battery. How exactly do you do that? Thanks.

use a multimeter(available at sears etc): dial the multimeter to resistanece(ohms scale) then place the (-) probe on the outside barrel of the bulb and the (+) probe on the central teat of the bulb. if the multimeter pegs, the buld is good.if the multimeter needle doesn't move, ****-can the bulb.mike

I use a battery and two test leads (one to the center terminal, one to the barrel); make sure the #257 bulb flashes.

I used a 9 volt battery with a 9 volt battery snap top, red and black wires. Red on bottom of bulb, black on barrel...you can get the snap top at Radio Shack.
