    C3 Door hinge spring install

Would someone please reveal the secret to installing a new door hinge spring. It appears to be correct in design. Came with a rather lame instruction procedure. I'm assuming that this tool was designed to allow you to install the spring without removing the hinge. I cant seem to move the spring into the slot once I have applied pressure with the tool. I have tried to find the best angle of the door and still be able to work in the gap.
I can't imagine what I'm doing wrong but I'm sure it's something stupid. This is my first time at a door hinge spring so please have mercy.
    Thanks, Mike

Might be hard to explain. First put the spring into the hindge in the approximate position it needs to be, except it will drop down a bit. Then take the tool and pull the bottom of the spring past the serrated wheels. The use a small hammer and tap it upwards until the groove at the top snaps into place.

      Thanks Wayne,
Apparently I am using the proper procedure. It's the upward tapping that gets tricky with my power window wire tube running right across the line of fire. Will try again tomorrow when I can have someone hold the wires out of the way. Thanks again. Mike
