    Attn:Joe Lucia;LT-1 TCS Question

    Hello:

Did the 70 LT-1 come with a 2 prong Temp. Sender? If so what was the
GM part number? Still available? I assume the Camaro LT-1 took same part
as both cars came with gauges not warning lights.

    Thanks Again; Larry Evoskis

No, the temp sender changed for '68-71 to PN 6400759 which was a 'pin head' vs. 'nail head', single terminal, device. Factory originals are reasonably hard to find, but there is a reproduction now available and how good it is in adherence to the AC original temp vs. resistance profile of the factory original, I can't say. The part looks like this:

      Larry,
Your title states "....LT-1 TCS," but your text question is "Did the 70 LT-1 come with a 2 prong Temp. Sender?" These are two separate systems, and it would help us help you if we were sure which system you are talking about.

Yes. The 1970 LT-1 temp SENDER (for the temperature gauge and mounted on driver side forward end of cylinder head) was a single PIN connector unit. Long-since GM-discontinued but reproduced, for better or worse, recently.

However, the TCS SWITCH iss a different part altogether. It is a SWITCH and not a SENDER and is located on the passenger side, rear of the cylinder head. It is a switch with 2 BLADE terminals arranged perpendicular to one another. It was originally GM #6489785. It's now known as GM #12322552. It's about 25 bucks, GM list. Its configuration is a bit different than originals and it might be "noticed" by a judge, but it's 100% functional.
