Hey Ralph,
I was just in my 71 AIM and could not locate a GM part number for the AM/FM Stereo radio. Admittedly I did not search each and every page, but the two areas I found covering the center console did not have the radio in the assembly. My console is still semi-installed and I could retrieve numbers off of the unit ( I also have the original stereo radio) if you think they are the same for 72 . There are folks here on the forum who know everything about anything and may assist. If no luck and you think I could help, let me know.

The 1972 AM/FM Stereo radio was GM #7937581. This was a 1972-only part number.
