I have a 56 Corvette chassis that was salvaged from a car suffering extensive fire damage. Although the rear clip was spared, the rest of the floor pan an front glass was incinerated. I'd like to get another body and restore the car since the metal components (including dated shocks) were all original. I've heard mixed reviews on the Corvette Central repro offering. I'd like to hear from other NCRS members on this subject.

The real thing will always have more value than a reproduction--anyone who is at all knowledgeable looks for bonding strips, seams, etc. Unless you can come up with a reproduction that is exactly as original (and I don't know of any) to use correct replacement pieces and do it correctly will be of greater long-term value.- Top
