    1957 4-speed transmission

    I have been searching for a date-VIN Number of the first 1957 to receive the optional 4-seed transmission.

          The approximately VIN of the 1st 1957 4 speed is in the Judging Manual.

              As I have always understood it, the OFFICIAL date for the 4sp to be first available was Apr 9, 57. But I would suppose that does not mean that an Apr 9 built 57 Corvette received a 4sp.
              I can believe the once an option was AVAILABLE, it may have been a while before it actually got into the pipeline.
