    73 Hood Vent acorn nuts

Does anyone have a close-up photo of the black acorn nuts that attach the hood vent to the hood? My 73 was repainted at one time by a prior owner, and the acorn nuts were replaced with speed nuts.

So anything that looks vaguely acornish from a distance.

        # 9420621 is the number from the AIM.
Check Zip's or one of the other part vendors for these. I'm sure they have them for you.

Great photos, Jimmy. That's just what I needed to see. A few thousand more pixels makes a world of difference. Thank you.

Those speed nuts are what is installed in my 73. According to the TIMJG those are not the correct type of nut. I'm assuming mine are replacements.

Ironically, GM changed the configuration of this part number completely.
What started life as the acorn nuts ended up life as the speed nuts.
                  Same part number.

Rich Pasqualone or David Sokolowski might have some restored and/or used originals.

Thanks, John. Great pics. I'll have to fake it if I can't find some junk yard nuts. Hmmm, I might be able to 3D print fake ones out of resin.
