Happy holiday season to all!

I am looking to have my original steering gearbox rebuilt by Gary R in the near future. In the meantime, I was thinking of a backup and saw this gearbox from Corvette Central and wondered if anyone has experience with it? How does it compare with the original? Fit, function, quality, and configuration compared to original? Thoughts appreciated.

Why spend this kind of money on a "back-up"? Just have Gary rebuild your original steering box and be done with it.

Very fair point. I guess I'm looking at the time when there isn't an option for a rebuild by someone as good as Gary.

Have no fear. Gary’s rebuild is going to last you a lot longer than you’re ever going to need it.
