Re: 64 grill molding
I see a number have looked at my post. A little more explanation of my dilemma, and more questions on the placement. Is the V shaped molding placed at the back of the lower valance panel such that it butts up against the vertical mounting tabs for the grill? And, if so, is all of the back edge touching all of the vertical mounting tabs? Trying to figure out what my mounting option will be, as the molding currently does not butt up against all of the tabs. FYI - my Front End was purchased from Eckler's in 2018, and was listed as a stock design for 1963-1964. Yes, 2018 - this has been a long process. And finally, the NOS molding was in its original packaging - when taking the wrapping off, the adhesive from the covering GM used was a bugger to remove - even used lacquer thinner. Any other ideas on what to use to clean the adhesive? 3M adhesive cleaner didn't phase it. Thank you to everyone who has looked at my thread.- Top

Re: 64 grill molding
Ron- on my original nose, the V shape of the molding conforms exactly with the back edge of the lower valance.. The molding does not touch nor come nearer than about 1/4" to the tabs. Be gentle removing adhesive from the molding, which is anodized aluminum.. Anodizing is an electronically applied clear coating.. Agressive cleaning especially with lacquer thinner could remove the anodizing.. You don't want that.
