Engine hot? Or doesn't matter?

May be better to sort out exactly what's at issue - vs a band-aid approach (high torque starter).

Last rebuild on your current starter?

Is it only the first revolution of the engine during cranking which is slow?
Have you checked/cleaned the connections at both ends of both battery cables?
When the engine is running at a high idle, what is the Voltage measured directly across the two battery terminals?

David's advice is good. Don't throw parts at the problem until you understand exactly what the problem is.

Jim, sometimes starting (no pun) at the source is obvious solution. Thanks, Ed
