    66 Original Dual Master Cylinder

    Hello all,
Looking for thoughts on the rare original 66 duel Delco master brake cylinder to an aftermarket version…quality and functionality? Save the judging aspect of the topic. Originals on eBay or elsewhere are usually more than new replacements. Then factor in a probable rebuild on the old unit. However, this post is not about a valuation comparison. New units can even be date coded I believe.

      Do you mean this one?:

100% Correct Delco Moraine 1965-1966 Corvette Master Cylinder with Power Brakes 7/16" X 24 thread. Correct GM Part# 5467005, correct casting # 5467084. Even our caps feature the correct factory markings.

It's available from most of the catalog companies.
We used it on a 66, and it's a nice piece.

Joe, Thanks for that contact. I emailed Lone Star and they returned a rebuild price of your original mc at $399 with a lifetime warranty.

Patrick, Yes that’s exactly the reproduction I was leaning towards. Good review, Thanks. Did you change brake lines at all? Front not to bad but rear is a bit more challenging.

We did have to change some of the brake lines, yes.

The difficulty in installing them depends how exactly you want them mounted as compared to factory.
We found a couple of tricks, and got very close. The owner was not completely concerned with originality so that gave us flexibility.

Danny, Nice, very nice. Likely go with the cssb repo version. They can date it to your car for an xtra $50. They also make up the rear brake line from mc to rear block in 2 pieces. Thought that was interesting. Thanks for the pic.
