    C2 vent window regulator

Does anyone know who cells a correct vent regulator rebuild kit that has the stop cast in the gear so it won't open too far?
The ones with the gear all the way around don't have a stop and are a PV fail.
Does the regulator Trim Parts makes have the stops? Has anyone used one of them for PV?

It looks like the situation is the same as it was a year or two ago. They only have the driver’s side gear with the original style end stop.

Fortunately, the drivers side is the only one that needs replacing in the majority of cases. Glad it's not the other way around.

            Stewart,

You might try David Sokolowski. He might have a NOS regulator that you can purchase. I had the same issue as you and I was able to get one from him. Alternatively, you could check with Brian Tilles at Corvette Specialties of Maryland West. Not sure if he restores regulators but he has done other restoration work for me and has never disappointed.

Good luck with that. You'll be lucky to get away with it.

I get it. That said, the PV process is very rewarding if not very stressful. I applaud any and all Corvette owners no matter what they might aspire to do with their car. All my best to you.

                      Hi Gary:

This issue is is new to me. Many years ago I purchased and installed the replacement gears from America's Finest Corvettes and thought I was done with the restoration. I can't recall whether those gears had a built-in stop, but I don't think they did. They worked fine for Flight judging but I never did a PV.

If you have new gears and you need to install a stop for them, I would think that adding some JB Weld to fill the gap between two teeth would do the job. As is recall, the AFC gears were made from aircraft aluminum, so some careful TIG welding could also be used to fill the gap between two teeth and create the desired stop.
