Looked in the AIM, and the Forum, but can't find the help I need. In reinstalling both the right and left fresh air control brackets to the underside of the dash, I find multiple holes I currently have them installed directly directly below the switches on the instrument panel closest to the steering column. However, the left cable is pushing against the clutch assembly. To get it away from that touch point, I have to attach that special hood cable clip very close to the dash. Something doesn't seem right, and wondering if I have used the wrong attachment holes. The cable mechanism were new from Paragon. Help!

This may help; The clip is near the fuse panel and connects to hood release cable, a little hard to see.

Re: 1964 Non A/C Fresh Air Vent Control brackets
Thanks Alan. Mine is a Feb car. Is that clip installed near the end of the straight shaft part of the brake release? AIM picture shows it more in the flexible parts of both cables, so therein was my confusion. And, both vent assemblies are attached to the bottom of the dash in the holes nearest the steering column?- Top

Re: 1964 Non A/C Fresh Air Vent Control brackets
The subject clip (3840262) is attached to the hood release shaft (cable) and ONLY the left hand vent tube, the right tube does not enter the discussion. See Sect 1 sheet A8.00 view B. That's how I interrupted the location since mine was also missing. That vent tube use to hit my clutch shaft also, for years and wore off some paint however never a problem since Aug of 67.
Both vent tubes are mounted in the holes closest to column, YES to "And, both vent assemblies are attached to the bottom of the dash in the holes nearest the steering column?"
