    1972 Smog Pump Question

    When I purchased it, 20 years ago, all the smog components were intact, but the belt was off. I'm finally getting around to doing some detailing, and I think it would look so much better with a belt but I'd like to dummy it up or gut the internals. Does anyone with experience doing this have recommendations on what do to? Also, it does not seem to spin very freely, so will probably need bearings too.

      Which engine? 72 base motor cars did not have a pump.

          Its an LS 5. Standard equipment for my car.
