EJ, are you going to have the car judged, if not a set of right size Michelin (4) would do you well. I just put a set of run flats on my 07, rides and handles very well. I will have the car judged in Apr of 25 which will take a 70% hit for judging (24points) other than that the car should fair well. Good luck finding Goodyears that are new, they stopped making some sizes of tires that were original for Corvettes.

I just bought a base Z52 1988 coupe and am having Michelin Sport AS mounted, tomorrow. Hopefully, they will provide a quiet ride and good handling.

            E J,

Put Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 on the front of my '92 ZR-1 and highly recommend them for your 1990.

I installed Continental Extreme Contact Sport tires on my '93 LT1 two years ago. 340 AA A; W speed rated. During fun back road driving including a trek along the Blue Ridge Parkway and hours of 70-80 mph cruising (no track use) they were smooth, quiet, and handled great dry; I haven't driven in the rain. They provide plenty of warning before breaking loose in a turn. None took more than 1 ounce to balance on a Hunter Road Force which is a good sign of quality. Still have 7/32" tread after 10k miles. I don't know how this compares to Michelin P/S but they are a bit less expensive.

A couple of months ago put a set of the staggered sizes Nitto NT-555 G2 (255/45R17 front, 285/40R17 rear) on wife's 94 6-speed. They balanced well and are quiet. I don't think they have been pushed too hard except for 100+ straight line driving. I liked them because they are directional and came in the factory sizes.

I've purchased all my C4 tires from "Tire Rack". Good selection and price and they ship them to you in just a few days. I generally pull the wheels at home and take them to be mounted. Don't trust the tire guys to properly place a C4 on a lift.. Heard of too many cracked floorboards.

I do the same thing and have Tire Rack ship to Discount Tire, which they own. And most Duscount Tire stores use Hunter Road Force balancers. Removing the wheels yourself is also a good opportunity to clean them.
