Joe, The black out was performed at the end of the Paint Line when the body came out of the paint oven, just before the beginning of the Trim Line. Under coat, sound deadener, was applied, sprayed, in the wheel wells at the end of the Trim Line when the body was elevated from the body truck and on its way to body drop. The body was hot coming out of the Paint Line ovens so the blackout paint dried quickly.

Hi Larry,

Was this blackout (not undercoat or sound deadener) done in a booth (or enclosure of some sort) beyond the oven ?
- or was this done, let's say in "open air" on the conveyor, right before the Hard Trim Line ?
