Antique Corvette?

I've never heard of any Corvette called an "antique", but "vintage" is certainly applicable. Sad story here and a reminder to "watch your six". I'm not sure what thieves can do with a vintage Corvette. Can it be fenced or just a joy ride? Most car thefts are modern high volume models that are stolen and dismantled for "crash parts."

I wonder if the owner is a NCRS member.

He's not listed in the membership under either "Dave" or "David". My own reaction to the story is "$200,000 for a '59?!! Must have been one helluva '59!!"

I have a "Tracker Detect" app on my smart phone, and use it to scan my "vintage" Corvette ( Duke!) for tracker devices before I drive it home from any event I attend or a do a pleasure drive with it, i.e. Car Shows, NCRS Regional events where the public is invited to attend, stopping for an ice cream cone, etc. Also looking out for anyone appearing to follow me as i near my home.

It is a sad truth that we just can't trust anyone like we used to these days.
