Does anyone know what happened to Gentile Corvette-they made HD diff covers, I think they were in NY? They used to advertise them in the corvette mags 40years ago. I have been holding one for a while and it's a solid cover.

Gary------
Gentile Corvette was run by a guy named Carl Gentile and was located in some small town in Ohio. Carl passed away about 15 years ago and I believe the business just died with him. He produced not only the HD 63-79 rear cover but also reproductions of the J-56 front brake caliper supports.
I recall seeing him at Corvette shows. He was enormous in physical size and was usually seen sitting in a chair. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

I don't know why I thought he was from LI, NY maybe I was thinking of Motion Performance.
I recall his ads were in the mags all the time back in the day.
I will say this cover is pretty impressive, not sure if the spare tire tub will hit since the side walls are not radiused like a stock or Muskegon cover. I have seen them come in every so often, so I am sure there's more out there.
As it turns out I will be installing this today for a custom 10 bolt with HD 30 spline axles.- Top

Re: HD DIff cover
Bud Gentile had a shop in Marengo OH. Had a very tall yellow sign with Stingray on it just off I71, north east of Columbus 419-253-5172 fax 419-253-7701. He also did "unauthorized" reproductions of '63 master cylinders, '65 and '66 power brake master cylinders. I believe he was involved in at least one law suite. He ended up in a nursing home. His son liquidated his things. Some on eBay including a basket case '57. As stated he passed many years ago.- Top

Re: HD DIff cover
Thanks Dan. Interesting history.
I've used Muskegon for 40 years, their covers have been tough. I've only seen one broken, it came in on a diff for rebuilding. They replaced it. Prices going up and a lot of knockoffs being sold from many vendors.- Top
