Why not a slide show, or better yet, a live-access, real-time, projected-on-screen navigational tour of the entire national site with emphasis on the TDB and a demonstration of its search capabilities. This could be a 15-minute segment added onto a judging school once a year as a refresher for existing members and introduction for new ones.
    Excellent idea, Louis...thank you !

Maybe the 15-minute presentation (Power Point ?) you're suggesting could be sent out to the entire NCRS membership via the update emails we occasionally get ?...maybe it could be a permanent link at the bottom in those emails as they come out in the future ?

tag line "...Want to know more about what NCRS's Technical Discussion Board (TDB) can do for you ? Click here and a fellow NCRS member out there probably has already answered your question !...(link to your suggested presentation provided here)
    thx,

      Mark,

Louis had a GRRRREAT idea about a video on how to surf the NCRS site highlighting the TDB and sharing with the Chapters.

Problem is - who's gonna produce the video? Would be good if a fellow NCRS member volunteered to produce the video.

Hmmmmmm. Usually the one who comes with idea typically "gets" volunteered, no? LOLOL

        Kidding of course.

I volunteer to help in some way. I need more tasks!

          Re: TDB participation

I have been a member for near 25 years. I have had the joy of placeing my Corvettes in all 3 Mark of Excellence catagorys. I am in the process of placing my 4th Vette in my final attempt for that prestigious award. During that period 99 to 2024 the TDB helped me restore my beauties, 57, 90, 93 ZR-1, and my final attempt will be my C-6. Bless the keeper's of the TDB. DON'T LOOSE THE FAITH.

            Hi Gary,

            EXACTLY
Hence why I suggested a Power Point presentation as another option (potentially more boring w/o a live person there like we've had in our Virtual Schools); but cheaper and "easier" to produce.

Training professionals I have worked with say there's at least one hour of scripting and storyboarding for each 1 minute of on-screen training video purposes - and that does not include filming; editing; final post-production; etc.

I've done Power Point presentations and am willing to throw my hat into the ring on that score...but the sequencing of what is said and how it's said probably needs to be scripted from "fellow NCRS members" who are more adept and knowledgeable about Vbulletin; Boolean logic; and the nuances of how that software works...
            thx,
            Mark

                  Re: TDB participation

                  Mark,

What really makes me sad is that NCRS has retired Tech writers, IT staff, etc. and yes some of them read the TDB - that will not volunteer to help with a program that could help sustain our NCRS hobby and organization in the future.

Thanks for volunteering. We need more volunteers to pitch in.

                    Re: TDB participation

Rather than a PowerPoint, I plan just do a live demonstration at close of a monthly Chapter meeting. Our in-person monthly meeting is also via Zoom.

Live demonstration. Sign-on. Go to Store / On-line Restorer & Driveline / Tech Board. View some threads. Respond to a thread. Start a thread. Do a search. Then answer questions.

Let's not make it more difficult than it needs to be.

Short summary type article distributed via Restorer/Driveline or those mass "what's up" emails to all members.

We have a chapter meeting this morning, I will ask if anyone is interested in this kind of thing.
