A issue occurred at a judging meet where a stamp pad on a low optioned 327/300 was deemed to be non typical pad surface and the "stamping" done by a CNC using dot matrix engraving. But upon further cleaning the pad with a cleaner to remove a proactive oil it was deemed a factory stamp but still a non typical finish. While the owner believes doing machine work the block may have been sandblasted to clean things up which would warrant the non typical finish. So no argument there.
however how often are team leaders finding "restamped" engines pads using the dot matrix engraving.
