    Body lift 64 convertible

It is basically gutted, have doors off and well braced. I will be lifting with shop crane and sling system. my question is; is it better to also remove the rear deck lid or just leave it on closed. Also if it is removed, is it necessary to brace side to side at the folding top screw attachments. I've seen it done both ways, or is that overkill.
    Thanks
    Jim

I left deck lid closed with convertible top up and latched no problems

Jim the more you leave on car the less it will move around. Until you have on body dolly.since you doors off. Close hood, put top up as Bill notes, deck lid closed.

Jim double check the seat belt in board cables on my 66 they popped right back on the studs and I did not see it. When I started lifting the body they hung me up. I went nuts trying to figure out what was going on. I wired them out of way

Thanks Bill, Ed. I will keep the deck on and closed. My early 64 did not have the seat belt cables so no worry there.
