Thanks Joe, good info. I had heard a story once that the dual circuit MC put on the '63 and '64 J56 brakes has originated from taxi service Chevys. Any truth in that?

Yes, checking further I find that the Kelsey-Hayes master cylinder originally installed on 1963-64 Corvettes with HD brakes was also used on 1963 full size Chevrolets and taxis with dual master cylinders.
Strangely, though, the 63-64 Corvette with HD brakes master cylinder cap was not cataloged for the above-referenced 63 Chevrolet applications. Might have been an erroneous cataloging, though.
