A close friend helped with the rebuilding of my 61 low horse FI unit. Are there thin small washers that can be put under the nuts that fasten the plenum to the adapter plate to prevent the galling of the aluminum? Also, I am in need of 10 - 28 one-inch long filister screws that went missing. I tried calling John DeGregory; however, there was no answer. I hope that he is okay. Thanks! Mark

Re: 61 FI Plenum To Adapter Plate
Mark, I used washers under the nut on my 59 FI, missed removing one once, it went into an intake port, had to remove the head to retrieve it. Don't recommend to use them, not necessary.

Re: 61 FI Plenum To Adapter Plate
I use "AN" washers under the plenum nuts and under the adaptor plate (intake) bolts. They are very small and hardly show and as you said they prevent galling. I can help you with securing some and filister screws, email me. dynodonh@gmail.com- Top

Use flanged nuts. These will prevent any possibility of the problem that Dan describes. Plus, they will be no more obvious that using standard nuts with washers. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
