Distributor Tags/Bands -- Red, Silver or Mixed?

Trying to determine distributor band colors. Is there a methodology to the colors, or is it random? Are they all the same size? I've heard TI was red, Big Block are Red???? HELP...and thanks???

Tom, I recently offered about 25 used tags on the TDB and to list them all I had them all laid out by number. There was zero rhyme or reasoning behind the printed information being red on the outside or red on the inside. These were from 62 to 74 tags.

The band on my '65 L79 is red. The band on my '64 L75 is silver/natural.

Is it model-year dependent ? dunno...?

Mine's a '67 BB w/ TI - so not red because it's a BB and not red because it's TI - at least for '67 on my car...
As for size, mine fits nicely w/in the recessed, stepped-down area where the hold down clamp engages at the bottom
