Fuel Injection high pressure pump drive casing

Currently working an early fuel injection unit. The drive cable casing connecting the distributor to the high pressure fuel pump was missing, so one was purchased after market.
The attachment nut for connecting the casing to the distributor is almost impossible to screw onto the distributor.
Does anyone have any experience with these after market parts and was the wrong vendor selected.
    Thank you in advance
    Wes

Wes, take the three screws out of the distributor part where the nut screws on. And remove it, it will just pull out, leave the shaft in the distributor.
Take the nut off of the cable housing you purchased and screw the two pieces together. If they will not you can see which one is bad, the distributor threads or the nut. If its the distributor threads a very small file can be used to repair the threads.

Scott, thank you. I've looked at the threads on the distributor and they look good. Brushed them with a brass bristled brush to make sure they were clean. Problem seems to be with the nut. Thats why I was asking if there is a difference in after market nuts.

What is your recommendation if the threads on distributor are good, but nut still does not screw on without assistance?

I can send you another nut. Do you have a round knurled nut or hex nut.
What about the vendor of the nut. Any chance there.
If you will email me your address I will send you one.

Can you post a picture of the threads of the nut.

Wes, As you know now the '57 drive cable nut is a wide HEX NUT.
A '58 drive cable nut is hex also but the hex but is not as wide. The nut in the photo is a well worn '59-65
Thread for the FI distributor cable nut and the FI distributor is 1"-20.
Die number is 17-064-204. Tap number is14-064-203B. John
