Hi

I am putting on all my chrome pieces to make sure they fit and I know how to put them on before another coat of primer.
There are three locations where a clip is screwed into the fender. My holes are too big for the screws I was just going to fill it in with body putty then drill a small hole - is this OK or should I fiberglass over the hole. Thanks

chop up some glass into small pieces, then use resin. i'd put the patches on the inside of the panels.mike

Agree with Mike. Did that to a friend's '60 years ago including the back side and it worked great. Don't forget the rubber gloves!

Hi Mike thank you but this area i can't get to the inside of the fender I believe that is why these special snap in clips were used.

Yes those 3 areas per side are only accessible from the outside. On many I've done I simply use JB Weld, fill in the holes, then drill for new screw holes. Use very shallow head screws to hold the special "S" clips or you'll ding the stainless trims.

Same JBW for interior body, for kick panel screws, dash holes , etc that get wallowed out from previous work.

Sorry I have not replied earlier but I thought the same thing there is nothing sacred about the hole location so that is what I am going to do.
