Hi All,
Finally back at it. Starting to rebuild my suction throttle valve and ran into a couple of questions/problems that I was hoping the you guys could help me with?
First of all I took apart the STV and I am a little concerned with the condition of the bore. It feels smooth when I put my finger in it....(passed the finger test), but there are definitely some dark areas and and some small imperfections. I have attached a couple of pictures. Let me know what you think.
Secondly, In the Service Manual on the rebuild they reference a powdered Molykote Type Z which seems to be quite expensive and hard to get, especially for just a small amount that I would need. Is there a substitute for that product? Or should I just bite the bullet?
Lastly should I take apart the Schrader valves apart for cleaning? I am concerned that there is dirt inside of them, but I don't want to damage them or cause them to leak when I start messing with them.
Thanks for the help
