    Dual Four Barrel Carburetor

I almost never use the second carburetor. Gas sets in it and turns in to a mess and clogs up all the jets. If if disconnect the gas line to the second carburetor will the car run well on one carb? Thanks Jimmy

You can try that (make sure you securely plug any open fuel lines) or find some freeway on ramps or roads where you can safely do some WOT runs through at least the first two gears.

Back in the day we called it an "Italian tuneup".

Do you have the idle jets adjusted out 1 1/2 turns? The carb will burn gas even if you don't open up the carb. All that said - I agree with Duke don't be afraid to get into it occasionally - it's fun!
