Question On True Knock-Off Wheels

Here Goes>Does the Center Cap have to come off before wheel can be taken off? Upon
looking at true knock-offs it seems the wheel has enough clearance to be taken off. (Over the Cap)
Why am I asking? Simply because some Center Caps can be a bear to take off. On mine
about 1/2 are easy with that rubber suction cup that the venders sell. The other 1/2 will
not budge. (I apply only so much force before stopping so not to damage them.) Comments

Larry - If you mean 'True' Knock-Offs, meaning originals KH versions and repro versions that are also knocked-on, then no the cap does not have to be taken off first. I have three sets of KO's, all repros. One set from the very early 80's with no pin-grooves, the other two sets later versions and both with the grooves but I don't use the pins so when they need to come off or go on, it's just the spinner, me and a big lead hammer.
For those folks using repro true knock-offs and they do use the pins, the caps need to come off to access the pins first.

They do not need any removal, never removed mine since 1967
