    1963 Coupe Weatherstripping

Hi all. Could someone please advise where the rivet for the weatherstripping by the windshield post is installed? The AIM (attached and rivet is labelled 8) shows by the lower portion of the post and I have attached a picture of where I think it goes.....just inside the post? Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks.

I just installed these. I have not painted the rivets yet . Somehow
    The photo flipped 90 degrees.

This was great timing finding this thread - I checked mine and the "knowledgeable" shop got lazy I guess and just used a screw to secure it. Does anyone know what size rivet to use for this application?
        Thanks in advance.

Frederick, if you have an assembly manual look for the part number and google it for the length. That's what I did and I trimmed a 3/16" rivet and installed it without any back up washer etc., just the 3/16" pop rivet. I did not paint it and I don't believe it supposed to be painted.

              Danny,

Black would make the most sense, On a 63 car, I don't know where other black rivets were used other than maybe the dash attachment but that tab was painted exterior color. I would be interested in seeing a picture of an original still intact.

                Thank You Timothy and Danny,
I'll try to find some photos prior to the resto and check Corvette Central for that kit as well.
                Thanks!
