About 5 years ago, I restored my big block spark plug wires by using bulk Packard 440 wire in my old wire shields. I bought a 25 foot roll of wire for $32.50. I am going to use long lasting solid core wire for spark plugs on my 70 LT-1 because they are so difficult to replace once the engine is in the car. I went to the same company for more Packard 440 wire, and now the same 25 ft roll is $228.50. It is that expensive or more at other outlets I have found. Why has the price escalated for this wire? Is it out of production and now a collectors item?

Re: Packard 440 wire has become golden
I avoided the Packard 44O and got the Taylor solid core wire with silicon rubber insulation. The small block wire routing is much closer to the exhaust manifolds than that of big blocks.- Top
