1967 4 speed shift pattern - How do I know if I have a repro or original?

How can I determine (prior to a judging event) if this shifter pattern is original or a repro? On page 39 of the current 67 NCRS judging guide it states: "The shift pattern is de-bossed and silk screened in black on a small brushed aluminum plate..." What are the other attributes of an original shift pattern plate?

If it’s a GM part, then I think it must be in a used part, since I think all the GM service replacement shifter patterns had the 4 tabs on the back.

      Gary.
For Corvette, 1963 was the only year that had the four tabs. Subsequent years were all "flat" backed. All original plaques were de-bossed...nobody, that I am aware of, is making a de-bossed plate...just silk screened.

        Leif,

Yup. I agree. No easy solution for a damaged plate as far as I know.

Brian, that looks original to my untrained eye. The replacements that I have seen have font/pattern that is either noticeably thinner or thicker than what you have.

Does anyone else see that the original plate in the photo directly above has more of a gold-ish hue to it than the other 2 plates? Can anyone confirm this? Or is this hue more likely to be some kind of light reflection? Thanks.

Believe that is due to age!
