Re: 1973 original power beam headlamp bulbs
In 79 we got the Halogen's for the high beams but Power Beam still used for Low-Beams. This lamp configuration continued through 1982.Tom Russo

Re: 1973 original power beam headlamp bulbs
As a follow up to this post, my 1973 has the original factory installed headlamps except for one. Headlamps are stamped, "Power Beam, SAE H71". Driver side #1 is date coded B131, #2 is date coded B104. Passenger side #1, J201 (replacement about 20 years ago when I found a Power Beam at Bloomington Gold in St. Charles.) and #2 is date coded B127. I believe the high beam location is #1, #2 is low beam location, and the B131,104,127 and J201 are date codes. Referencing Judging Sheet Exterior #10, Headlamps. Do I get only 6 points versus the 8 on originality and 6 versus 8 for condition, or, do I get the full 16 points? . It does not appear we judge for date codes. Or, are headlamps judged only for correct type which covers several Corvette model years? Reference to page 76, Exterior, 3rd Edition 2018. No mention of date codes in our tech manual or on the judging sheet.
