1967 hood pins and associated retainers

On page 173 of the current 67 judging guidebook, it says:
The hood pins and associated retainers, located on the rear corners of the hood, are cadmium or zinc plated with a semi-gloss black painted spring. Hood pin retainers on St Louis built bodies were loosely masked during the application of blackout and will have evidence of varying degrees of overspray typically around their bases.

On page UPC 11-13 / B6, the AIM shows piece 2 as a seat assembly and piece 4 as a retainerbothretainersparts.jpg

Gary, I was thinking the same thing - that the JG description casually lumped the seats in with the retainers.
      Thanks.

Does this mean that there is an 8th edition being written?

                Brian,

Most TIMJGs are under a constant state of review and revision as comments come into NTLs via various communication channels:
                • emails
                • phone calls
                • in-person discussions at Meets, etc.
                • TDB posts
                • etc....

My guess is some model years receive more comments than others, so decisions as to when, or if new editions and/or printings come out are controlled by Dave Brigham (NJC) in conjunction with his discussions with the applicable NTL (and maybe also the Board ?).

                Hope that helps !
                thx,
                Mark

Gary. You are right. On St. Louis bodies, the base piece typically shows some blackout paint near the mating surface against the hood.

This does not apply to AOS cars because AOS added the hood pins after blackout.
