1957 Jack Storage
Hello, is the jack on a 1957 stored under or on top of the spare tire in the tub? I have seen it stored both ways, however if stored under the tire I would think that it would damage the fiberglass tub? Thanks in advance for any advice, John

Yes and it's hidden away in the AIM, Sec 14 Bumpers & Misc.
The only problem with this, is that if you have whitewalls, they get impressions and marred from the spare well ribs, and dirty. I always had a piece of heavy paper on the floor of the well to protect the tire. Years later after getting 5 new tires, I ended up putting the jack under the spare with the whitewall facing up with the paper on top, then the jack board. Not proper configuration, but saved the spare from ugliness. I just wrapped the jack in foam to keep it from bouncing around.
