67 front frame horn shim marks

Have 3 tack welded shims plus one additional ( loose) shim at the front of the frame

The welded shims were there at the time on the unrestored, original frame to the car, in 1990

For judging purposes, do I apply 4 or 1 chalk marks?

    Thank-you for any replys

    Doug

      Hi Doug,

      Interesting.

FYI John Hinckley's C2 Assembly Process presentation says the following for the 2nd position on the Frame Upside Down Line (FUDL):

Cycle clamps, observe plunger readings and mark shim count on frame side rail, rivet upper and lower ball joints to front control arms...etc.
He goes on to say at the 1st position on the Chassis Line (after it's flipped over from the Frame Upside Down Line):

"Apply locating fixture and arc-weld #2 body mount brackets to frame on convertibles, and weld required shim pack on front frame horns at the radiator support mount locations."
I would assume the "FUDL plunger" readings he's referring to would have indicated 3 shims in your case - welded on after the frame was flipped (so they wouldn't fall off).

PS - there are no other assembly steps where he indicates additional free-shimming for the radiator support mounts, but who knows ?

Obviously, this is not a good answer for you - hopefully a C2 chassis judge will chime in...
      thx,
      Mark
