1978 Spare Tire Wheel Color???

Hi All,
Just joined a few minutes ago. Not sure if I am Posting in the right area. My question is, I own a 1978 Corvette. The spare tire wheel is yellow. I want to repaint it. Does anyone know the name of the yellow Chevrolet used? Thanks,

It's been called "school-bus" yellow if that's any help...but never have seen an official GM name or paint code.

Kenny, Welcome. You're in the right place for sure. I never thought the spare had Yellow wheels. Were the road wheels yellow too? I know little about '78's.

Since you are a new member, I want to ask this question to you and Tom...are you sure you want to re-paint it?

Maybe a dumb question, but could this be the original color for a spare, and would it be wise for Ken to consider leaving it alone if he is going to have the car judged?

Thx Rich. Never thought of that but I would say more than likely KH painted those. I've worked with Kelsey on the P-Metric series tires introduced in 78 and will have to drop a note and see if they might have something. I'm sure the demand is great for that paint.

Yes it is the original color and wasn't changed until very early April Pace Cars. And best if planning to have it judged leave as is.

Kenny BTW...what's the VIN and trim tag date code? Just noted your member no...70k+
