I'm in the process of replacing the aftermarket steering wheel on my 67 with the original wheel and hub. In the process I am also replacing the horn contact, related parts etc. The diagram I have shows a cancelling cam spring, I have no such spring in the column. I retain the original black cam. The vendor books show a spring for Telescopic, but nothing for Standard column. Are they interchangeable, or not needed for standard? Only part I am missing for reassembly. I checked the archives but find no mention of the spring. My car is a late may build. Gary

Re: 1967 Cancelling cam spring
Thanks for pictures Steve. The small spring between the cancelling cam, and the hub, in the second photo is what I'm missing. It's listed in the Zip and CC catalog under Telescopic column but not Standard. Is it the same spring? If not, where could I source one? Gary- Top

In Stephen's picture, you can see the metal pin coming out of the cancelling cam. Behind that pin should be a spring.Attached Files- Top

Re: 1967 Cancelling cam spring
The coil spring about 1" long and 3/4" dia is the same for both columns in 67 according to the LICS (expired) catalog.- Top

Re: 1967 Cancelling cam spring
Gary, I am sorry because I thought you were talking about the cancelling cam. The part you need is called a steering shaft spring.Attached Files- Top
