After about 30 years and a long Road Tour from NJ to the National in Mobile, I have decided to have my 1972 trailing arms rebuild. While I am under there I figured I would rebuild my original leaf spring. Are there any liners that fit or are better than others?

Thanks Larry, plan on using Bair's for the TA as I have their shipping containers. I will check Quanta liners. Any suggestions on liner assembly?

Ed, Make sure to measure spring total thickness at the differential mounts before, and then after assembly with new liners, which are often thinner. It could affect the 4 bolt lengths and you may need to shorten the 2 forward bolts.
Also, when using a new spring center bolt, check head height as replacements are typically too high.

Is is typical to have to trim the liners to fit?

Over the years people have reported a substantial variability in the thickness of the liners. Including differences between GM production liners and GM service replacements.
Thanks Gary,
In other words, they are all over the place in thickness!
I was super excited to have found some NOS liners. I noticed there is a difference in the actual composition of the NOS and the Eaton liners.
The Eaton appear to just be extruded plastic?
On a side note, would you mind if I PM you regarding a leaf spring question?

Since we're talking about leaf spring liners, I thought this may be of interest.
I was able to come across some NOS liners and measured the thickness. I compared the thickness to a set of liners from Eaton (leaf spring manufacturer).
The NOS were .0450mm thick and the Eaton were substantially thicker at .078mm
