Mid Year (67) Ash Tray Loose and Slides Open

Does anyone have any idea why my ash tray slides open very easily while driving the car? It never used to do this but has recently started to do it. I will have the center console out for another reason so I thought I would tackle this issue at the same time if possible.

Do you still have the nylon guides on each sides that the cover sides in?

No I don't see any nylon glides at all anywhere.

There should be two guides, one on each side. The cover does not slide metal against metal.

Interesting, are these glides difficult to find? I'm wondering if I could make them.
