Outer door seal, window

I'm having trouble finding an outer door seal, GM #396641 and 3966642, which fits. All seem slightly long, hits at the rear of the door before snaps and mounting holes align. I bought what was sold as an NOS 3966642 which shows the same problem. Is there any way to authenticate this part? The package was opened, wondering if someone stuck a repop piece in the original GM package, sold as NOS?

Was there any embossing on the back of this part, GM part number, logo?

The length issue is very slight, maybe 1/16 to 1/8 of an inch. I had to trim a repop piece slightly to get it to fit.

Which reproduction did you try?

I bought some reproductions from Paragon, don't know who the manufacturer was.

It's been about 10 years, but I got these from Al Knoch. They fit okay.

The issue I see with these during events is a gap between the glass and the seal which allows water to enter the door. Be sure to adjust the window for a good seal.

I wasn't aware Al Knoch offered "whiskers". Wonder if they are reselling the same as other vendors offer?

post a photo of the end of the round stainless bead and I should be able to tell if it is a repro or a gm part.
The repros are cut and the originals are pinched in a round fixture which bull noses the ends.

hits at the end of the door? My weatherstrip fuzzy dips down under the lip, it doesn't end like the outer stainless.

Mine dips down as well though it hits a spot at the end of the door.
I have a reproduction which is close, a bit over 1/16" too long...
