    NCRS Gallery @ Carlisle 2022

It's my extreme honor to be included in this year's Gallery.
If you're at Carlisle this weekend, stop by the NCRS tent and say Hi.
Rows IB/IC, just west of Chip's Circle.
I always enjoy meeting discussion board posters in person!

      Thanks Peter!
This time she's going by trailer.
Too bad you'll miss out; I was going to bring ginger ale.

Beautiful Collector Edition Brian. Congratulations on being selected for the Gallery. I just bought one of these with 8,800 original miles. I may be picking your brain. Should be shipping to me from Ohio later this week.

Congratulations! I am not familiar with what happens at Carlisle, do they do any kind of judging? One of my car's has a Carlisle plaque that says "Chip's Choice", not sure what that means or who Chip is. Enjoy it.

              Michael,

Scroll down on this link to see more about Chip's Choice...if you're referring to one of your tankers - perhaps that was the display theme whatever year you got your plaque...

It is the granddaddy of all Corvette show/swap meets/ special interests, etc. IMO...Huge facility -
It takes at least 1/2 day just to walk by all the vendors once !
You should plan to go sometime
be sure to have comfortable shoes - you'll put on a few miles !

In case you were wondering what Chip's Choice is, it's our annual special display that is showcased within Building T. Named after our late company co-founder and National Corvette Hall of Famer Chip Miller, this display embodies the best-of-the-best in the Corvette hobby. A different theme is promoted each August at Carlisle.
              thx,
              Mark

I never miss a chance to visit the cars and NCRS members at the display. A massive amount
Of work goes into assembling these cars and everyone should try to view them if possible.

Thanks Mark, good info. I have had this on my bucket list for a while, just never seems to work out with my schedule, maybe next year. Yes, my '67 tanker has the plaque from the early '90s, not sure what the occasion was, but since it is so rare, could be just invited for that.

                    Michael,

Take some time to find out who Chip Miller was and how he contributed to this hobby! On the original judging team at Bloomington Gold! Chip was a great individual and fine man. A tribute to Corvettes and the preservation of the hobby!
Put it on your bucket list to attend Corvette Carlisle! May not be the same as it was in the late 70's, 80's and 90's but still a once in a lifetime experience.

Thanks Joe, after some research I can see what you mean about Mr. Miller's influence on Corvettes. The first time I heard about this show was when I ordered my 2012 ZR1 in Carlisle Blue, and being curious where the name came from. I got an email inviting me to come and get in free and have special parking. I never made it while I had that car, but did get a reservation at a friend of a friend's B&B in Carlisle for this year, but had to cancel over a conflict. I will try again next year.

                          Mike,
Years ago they used to hold a meet onsite. Now the gallery is used as a promo for NCRS, to help explain what we do and recruit new members.
Someone else here can likely supply even better information.

Re: NCRS Gallery @ Carlisle 2022

Our chapter, Delaware Valley Chapter, hosts the Gallery each year. A lot of work is put into it year round by Frank Stech, Tim Raisner and his late wife Elaine. We reach out to highly awarded car owners throughout the year and ask if they would be able to put their car on display for a specific judging group or NCRS award.

We usually get a constant flow of people through the display and try to answer any question they may have as well as educate them on what the NCRS does, and does not, do.

We also have a raffle each year and the proceeds are donated to the Chip Miller Foundation.

GM sends a large contingent of managers and engineers to Carlise each year, I believe they sent 31 people this year. I had a conversation a couple years back with one of the program managers and she told me that they tell all of their people to spend some time in the gallery so they can see the history and design changes through the years. It's not unusual to have Tadge or Harlen show up at the gallery as well.

You meet people from all over the world. There is usually a contingent that comes from Europe and this year I sold a raffle ticket to a gentleman from Australia.

It's well worth the trip if you can make it. I'm lucky in that I live 2 hours away. Have not missed one in many many years........

                            Tom
