Can someone post a photo of both sides of an absolute , known original radio hang tag from a '67. This would almost have to come from an original owner car or indisputable proof that it is an original. Thanks for your help.

Re: Yellow radio tag- Original Only!
Garry,
Here you go. This card was included in all the paperwork when I bought my 1967 anout 7 years a go from the original owner. He saved every piece of paperwork including the Shipper Copy with the VIN.

Rocco, thanks a bunch. I think there were two versions of this tags based on early, mid and late VIN production. Without giving the VIN number, can you provide the assembly date of your car please? Thanks again.Garry Barnes #18531

Re: Yellow radio tag- Original Only!
I've been studying/researching/collecting C2 Radio Hang Tags for several years.
The tag that Rocco has, 'appears' to be korrect for his time frame, yet it differs from the 1967 AIM part number... WHY?
From what I can tell so far, this style tag originated in mid-ish 1966... and I believe it may have resulted from a 'printers error'.
The format and text layout does not seem to conform to any of the GM Radio Tag drawings I've researched...
Instead, the printer 'may' have used some older info, and somehow messed up the format (or had an unknown directive).
BTW- The late 67 Corvette tag actually has a GM drawing date of 8-65, but I don't see it utilized until the 1967 Chevy AIM.
(my AIM research covers 1967 Corvette, Camaro, and Full Size Passenger Cars)
I can't be totally certain, but that 66 style radio tag 'may' have been used in 67 Corvettes until at least late April to early May.
As we are aware, the 67 Corvette switched to a fixed mast antenna... so 'perhaps' the bean counters didn't scrap the old tags.
NOTE: There may also be a 'mix' of tags at some point... I somewhat doubt there was a hard cut-over date.
As usual, your mileage may vary...- Top

Text instructions on the drawings indicate the following:
OUTSIDE MANUFACTURES IDENTIFICATION MUST
APPEAR ON THIS PART: OMISSION REQUIRES
APPROVAL OF THE CHEVROLET MOTOR DIVISION.
I've observed tags with greatly different formatting, that did include a 'Makers Mark'...
In general, I've seen different tags with some OTC and service replacement components:

Re: Yellow radio tag- Original Only!
Gentlemen, like so many things in this wonderful hobby, there are as many differing opinions as there are different parts considered to be originally used or "typical factory". In this case, I am not so sure it's differing opinions as much as it is differing knowledge, research and history with these cars. As typical, I am always on the "edge" of when something may have changed. My car is a mid-May car and it came with a tag just like the one Rocco posted. Can I swear that it is original to this car? No. Is there a chance that Jack's research would possibly support a mid-May car with this tag? Yes. I do believe what I have is an original card, but can't realistic support that it belongs to my car. Thanks again for pitching in to help further the knowledge of these radio cards,Garry Barnes #18531

Re: Yellow radio tag- Original Only!
Here are three that I have, the bottom one is from 1967 VIN #350, the middle one is from VIN #11982, and the top one is a spare I had. The one I feel most comfortable with is the bottom one from VIN #350.Attached Files- Top

Re: Yellow radio tag- Original Only!
Jay,
My research tells me that the one sided pale yellow tag is correct for early 67 and 68. 69 did not get a tag. Darker yellow 2 sided tags are 65-66-E67 in my opinion.
Jack has done extensive research on 63/64 tags si lit defer to him.- Top

Dave, did you mean to say "My research tells me that the one sided pale yellow tag is correct for late 67 and 68. 69 did not get a tag" ?Garry Barnes #18531
