Correct Rear Fuel Line Hose from Gas Tank to Main Fuel Line?

What is the correct rubber fuel line hose size from the gas tank on a 1965 Corvette, 5/16" or 3/8" inside diameter? I am headed to NAPA today to buy some ethanol compatible rubber fuel line to relpace my original line shown in the picture. I have given up trying to find a correct 3-rib reproduction.

Take the hose with you to O'Reillys and match or call Corvette Central. Part number #352353. $9.95 w/clamps.

Do not use the clamps from Corvette Central as they will not pass judging if you are having your car judged.

Use 3/8" SAE 30R7 fuel/evap/pcv hose. The same as you should use on the front fuel pipe to fuel pump inlet. This type of fuel hose is fully compatible with E10 fuels, and SAE 30R7 should be printed all long the hose. You can wipe it off with acetone if you wish

You should also replace the front hose while you're at it. It deteriorates more rapidly due to exposure to engine compartment heat, and if it fails the entire fuel tank contents will drain out. If you don't know how old it is change it now along with the rear hose.

Don't use SAE 30R9 "fuel injection hose". It is thicker and thus stiffer than standard 30R7 "low pressure hose" that actually has a maximum rated working pressure of 50 psi. The two hoses at either end of the frame pipe essentially operate zero pressure or a slight vacuum since they are on the suction side of the pump.

Make a note to change them again in 100K miles or 20 years, whichever occurs first
