    ZR1 door

My sons 2011 ZR1 had its drivers side door hit while opening and pushed open buy the other car at least 100* before he stopped. The door is junk does anyone have any idea where we can find one. Thanks Bill

WOW, Bill...sounds horrendous. Is your son OK? (of course, that's what is most important)

Can you tell if the "A" (hinge) pillar got pulled out of alignment as a result of the impact?
    thx,
    Mark

      Bill------

Isn't there insurance? It's up to them to find a door as part of repair.

As I recall, complete door assemblies are available by special order during the PRODUCTION run of the model year. However, that's a moot point now since the model is long-since out-of-production.

Mark yes he is fine thanks. The kid who hit him is hoping to settle without going through insurance. Car will be going for an estimate this week. There is a police report as well.

          Re: ZR1 door

Hope your sone was not injured.

If it hasn't been destroyed, be sure to attempt to transfer the Federal sticker containing the car's VIN from the old door to the new door. If the car is ever sold especially out of state some in-coming state inspections will look to be sure the Federal sticker with the VIN matches the public VIN that is at the base of the lower left wind shield against the car's title.

Don't let the kid of the hook for the the repairs. Hope the repairs go well.

          James

Thanks John. Billy researched a new door and found that i was 2 pieces and would be close to $2000 then he found out it is no longer available.

Bill, Call Contemporary Corvette in PA. I've had good luck with C4 and C5 parts from them.

                        Re: ZR1 door

Thanks everyone. The damage while not any more than the door is going to be to much for the other driver to handle. So we are going through insurance. We will probably hunt down the door. It will be quicker.
