Thanks to all the members who responded to our survey. With your assistance, we've now assembled information for 71Broadcast Sheet Sequence Number, and somewhat related to the VIN...and our overall survey results seem to agree. Except for rare circumstances of chance, the Body Shop Job Number (sequential 1-500 at both Dow-Smith [formerly A.O. Smith] and St Louis) was NOT the hand written number on the Tank Sticker. The Job Number was primarily intended for the construction of the raw body shell (coupe or convertible, small block or big block, etc.). The 'missing' Broadcast Sheet Sequence Number (also a sequential 1-500, but only at St Louis), is best associated with the final assembly and options...and this had a close relationship with the VIN (on occasion, they could have been identical).
As John once stated, 'Corvette Build Orders 1965-1966 Part I' and '1965-1967 Part 2' in the Summer and Fall 2001 issues of the NCRS RestorerHERE
Of the 71 cars; 12 of them have all of the data elements needed as shown in the Table below.

* If last 3 of VIN > 500; 500 is subtracted to adjust Job/Sequence Number difference
The Chart below shows that the average Body Shop Job number difference from the VIN is ~28 times larger than the average Tank Sticker/VIN number difference.
- 2 - 12 cars Chart 007.jpg
The next Chart below shows the average monthly differences (and full year average) thru the '67 model build year for the VINs minus the handwritten tank sticker numbers. Note the clear trend from positive to negative differences as the build year proceeded.

The next Chart below shows the average monthly differences (and full year average) thru the '67 model build year for the VINs minus the handwritten Body Shop Job Numbers. Note no real trend is evident as the build year proceeded.
- 4 VIN minus Body Job No. 006.jpg
The Table below shows all of the raw data and associated calculations performed. Note work stoppages occurred in the October 1966 to January 1967 timeframe, which had more of an effect on AOS body production quantities.
