Quick question. Did the factory run 7 days a week in 69? Just wondering because my trim tag on the door pillar says Sept 13 69 as the assembly date which is a Saturday. So either it's a fake or they worked at least on Saturdays.

Re: 69 production
Labor strike 10 April thru 6 June 1969. NCRS' "Corvette Birthday Book" shows weekly Monday thru Saturday production for (most) remainder of 1969.

Joe Lucia may have something to say about that date, if he sees this.Terry- Top

Re: 69 production
According to my notes Joe's 1969, that he bought new, has that date on the trim tag. I have recorded three or four other Corvettes built on that date. There is no doubt the St Louis Corvette production line operated on that day.Terry- Top

Re: 69 production
The long 1969 production year yields some interesting questions on the judging field. Having two months of that model year; one in calendar year 1968 and one in calendar 1969 (as you do), can lead judges to some strange conclusions if they don't pause to think some. In my time as National Team Leader I have more than once had to enlighten both judges and owners around this issue. It does add to the fun of judging though.Terry- Top

Re: 69 production
That is really reassuring. And yes the long production period does cause some confusion. For instance my 9/13/68 date car with a M21 doesn't have the B at the end of the date stamp but the 9/13/69 does. I thought one of them was fake but it turns out the early 69s didn't get the A, B or C until after Oct 21 68.- Top
